Many of the CBD products in the market today were unheard of a couple of years ago. There has been debate amongst medical practitioners whether to introduce the products in therapeutic medications. But, before we get ahead of ourselves, some of you are wondering what CBD products are? The term CBD stands for Cannabidiol and is a chemical compound found in Cannabis. Just like many people, you may be thinking – will I get high? There are two chemical compounds found in cannabis that interact with the endocannabinoid system in your body. THC is the one responsible for the high effect, while CBD - which is less psychoactive – comes from the male cannabis plant. Research is still ongoing on the various ways that we can use CBD for healing purposes. While not conclusive, there is evidence that CBD tinctures can be used for healing purposes and have been effective for treating epilepsy and social anxiety disorders. CBD tinctures are produced when the cannabis extract is soaked in a solution having a high content of proof alcohol. The extracts can remain in the solution for a couple of years. CBD tincture and CBD oils are used synonymously. How much you take per day will depend on the potency of the concentration. The alcohol besides been used to amplify the effects of the extract also acts as an excellent preservative.
